Shang Tsung's devilish smirk alone is almost worth the price of 'Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath'

Washington Post - Technology News

RoboCop is probably the worst of the three, and it's mostly due to who he is. RoboCop is predictably slow and clunky, and much of his moveset seems to be borrowed from the cyborg ninjas (a la Sektor, et al), along with other gun-toting characters. And that's what the "Mortal Kombat" series is. Its story is basically a classic Fox '90s Saturday morning superhero cartoon with X-rated violence. "Aftermath" simply provides more reasons to indulge in it.

RoboCop is coming to 'Mortal Kombat 11' on May 26th

Engadget

NetherRealm still isn't done bringing pop culture icons to Mortal Kombat 11. Its Aftermath DLC arrives on May 26th with not only a new story (more on that in a moment) and greater roles for fighters like Fujin, Nightwolf, Shang Tsung and Sheeva, but the addition of... RoboCop. Yes, you can wield everyone's favorite police officer turned cyborg and dish out a very rough form of justice. The team even worked with Peter Weller to recreate his character. Aftermath is notable as the first add-on for the game that continues the core storyline.

Google Stadia review – the console vanishes from video gaming

The Guardian

The Stadia is nothing short of revolutionary. Its core technology delivers on a promise decades in the making: console-quality gaming, without the console. But revolutions have unpredictable outcomes, leave a trail of destruction in their wake, and have a tendency to destroy those who start them. Will Google be able to see this through? Once Stadia is up and running, the system is nearly indistinguishable from playing a game on a console sitting under your TV, except there's no fan noise, no downloads or discs, and, well, no console. The bulk of my time on the Stadia was spent with the system in traditional TV mode.

'Mortal Kombat 11,' the latest installment in the best-selling fighting game adds deeper customization options, along with a new story, modes, and improved graphics. While many video games debut during the all-important gift-giving holiday season – about 40 percent of titles launch in November and December alone, says The NPD Group – you might want to save up for a few big spring games over the next month or two. In the coming weeks, action fans, in particular, can soon choose between a fighting game sequel, a beloved and remastered fantasy role-playing game (RPG), and a pair of bleak but compelling dystopian adventures – all due out in late April to mid-May. Here's a sneak peek at four eagerly-awaited offerings, all of which are rated for ages 13 or higher. The latest installment in the acclaimed fighting game franchise (WB Games; out April 23, $59.99, rated Mature for ages 17-up, for Sony PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and Windows PCs) offers a more personalized approach with its "Custom Character Variation System."

The unfiltered joy of Christine McConnell's 'Mortal Kombat' cake

Engadget

Rose is an obese, Frankenstein raccoon with a pink bow on top of her ratty head and a bent fork where her left hand should be. She's died at least twice, and each time, she's been lovingly brought back to life by her creator, Christine McConnell. Rose is one of the fantastic puppet friends in The Curious Creations of Christine McConnell, a Netflix series whose debut season helped define Halloween 2018. It stars McConnell, an endlessly creative baker whose online fame has exploded over the past five years, and a cast of puppet creatures produced by The Jim Henson Company. There's Edgar the bumbling werewolf, Rankle the resurrected, mummified cat god, and, of course, Rose the taxidermied raccoon.
